I respectfully disagree that Democrats like it for that reason. Democrats do not like it at all. It is embarassing to the US, again, with another scandal brought about by someone in the Bush Administration. The Democrats are setting the stage for 2008 where they can point out that the will of the people was to get out of Iraq now, but because of Senate Republicans and possible vetos from the President this will of the people is not going to happen. The result will be a landslide for the Democratic party like the 1964 defeat of Barry Goldwater by Lyndon Johnson and to usher even more Democrats into Congressional seats in both houses.

You're right about the republicans. Ever since Bush took office, it's been one distraction after another. It's been good planning on their part.

strongly agree they are failing miserably even tho they are a majority in all kinds of places. They got elected to get rid of the war and now they are just cooperating with the Republicans to advance their real agenda.

Actually, its kinda good for most of us. I'd rather these lame politicians on both sides of the aisle be distracted by these dumb non-issues instead of being busy making more rules and regulations that screw up my life. Let's keep them occupied! Too bad Anna Nicole is dead. Call in more celebrities to testify on national issues of "importance!"

Nope, alot of the snazzier ones love distracting us. A smokescreen or a red herring, either way.
