I understood that your tongue in cheek Hall of Fame reference but you are asking a good question about these two formerly strong arm throwers. They had some good years but cannot seem to avoid sore arm syndrome. They were good enough when they were good for teams to be interested in seeing if they can regain that form. Sometimes, pitchers come back and do well, briefly, but no one seems to every come back as strong. These are the kind of guys who might make good middle relievers, or even closer if they can throw hard again for an inning or two. They sure had potential and had brief flings with greatness. This will the last opportunities this year I am afraid.

Mark Prior definitely has a chance to do so. He will start the season either in Triple AAA or the DL with his poor performance in Spring Traning. Hopefully, when he returns to full strength he can regain is 18-6 season form and lead the Cubbies to the World Series. For Kerry Wood, he is set to be in the bullpen full time for the Cubs and has been doing quite well this spring traning.

umm kerry wood is a closer so he cant, and i don't think that prior will ever be good enough to get 10 wins again
