I'd recommend starting off by volunteering for a political campaign, the upcoming 2008 election campaign is an excellent starting point. Contact the office of the candidate you prefer and see if they need any help with their primary race.

Im assuming you mean elected politics. If you are trying to get into elected politics its almost essiential to at least get a 4 year college degree first. You should probably study political science but it really doesnt matter what the field you study but many people (both local party chairs and common folks) wont take you seriously without one. The only exception is if you are in a very small town but even then you cant move up without a degree.

Another option of course is a military career, but going to school is alot safer, quicker, and efficent way of doing it.

If your 19, a Republican, and a war supporter....you should go into the military. Then begin a political career.

Now, if your a chickenhawk like Dick Cheney....then run for City Council. Then begin your climb into the neocon elite.

Probably college, though I assume your in that. It depends if you want to run for office, you should build your resume with small jobs in the political field. Volunteer for campaigns, internships, or run for local office.
