I recently befriended a man with an eye patch. He is an extraordinary human being, but in talking to him I realized that people discredit him because of his eye patch. Most people tend to brush him off without getting to know him. Please no pirate comments.

My initial reaction was "Pirate!" Seriously though, it's terrible anyone would treat him differently simply because he wears an eye patch. Granted it's uncommon, but it says nothing about his character or his intelligence, only that there is an issue with his eye.

Those people who discredit him off are not worth his time.

I would have to get to know the person first. My brother had to wear an eye patch for a little while when he was little....

I would be wondering what happend to their eye.

I'd think it'd be kind of cool. I mean, not losing sight of one eye, but it definately gives the person character.

I would love to know someone like this.

i have a friend that lost his eye from a gunshot wound. if he didnt wear an eyepatch he would scare people even more.
it s a shame that so many people judge on outward appearances.

i would hope that i be as friendly to him as i would anyone.
