Grad school is a general term that refers to a school that a person attends to further his or her education after receiving a Bachelor's degree in college. A person can receive a Master's degree that normally takes 1 to 2 years or a PhD, 4-6 years. Also a grad school can refer to professional schools such as law schools and medical schools, although this is not very common.

You may think that it is too early for even discussing grad schools now but it's not that early to start thinking about it. When you started high school, you were starting to think about college, right? It's the same thing. You may never end up going to grad school and majority of college graduates don't go, but it is nice to leave your options open.

So what does it take to go to a good grad school? It is same thing as high school: good GPA, test scores, and letters of recommendation among others.

Graduate school is for students who already hold a Bachelor's degree and go on for a Master's degree. Some undergraduate degrees (Bachelor's) are designed to prepare you for the graduate degrees (Master's and/or Doctorate ) like preMed.
