oh, there is somewhere, I can't remember where, a big fairy web site, I put in fairy wings and found it that way, they have a fairy B&B in Herefordshire, but I e-mailed them, and they're not using it at the moment. sorry that's not great on factual information.
This is it;

sounds great.
I think it was a discrepancy with the owner or something, so might be worth looking it up

Why not take her to the Trossachs Area of Scotland, where the Lowlands meet the Highlands (a really beautiful part of the world). It was here, at Aberfoyle, in the 17th Century that the Reverend Robert Kirk wrote his book "The Secret Commonwealth" about the "Underworld" that co-exists with ours but is invisible to man. He had several meetings with the faeries who he said resembled us (they didn't look like Tinkerbell - LOL), but were a race "halfway between human & demon", with a similar capactiy to us for acts of great kindness or great evil. When he died the superstitious locals thought the faeries had stolen his soul. You can visit Faery Knowe there & leave your offering to the faeries of a strip of cloth tied to a tree. If you make a wish when you do this the faeries are meant to grant it.
Do a search on "The Secret Commonwealth" & you'll get more details about him. There are loads of Standing Stones in the area too if you fiancee is into that sort of thing.

I live in NW Michigan, otherwse known as the 'Ireland of the US" ! We are supposedly one of the last 8 places on Earth where Faeries can be found. SERIOUSLY! We have LOTS to see & do. A local shop has a Faerie walk that is TRULY "Other-worldly" Another local author wrote a book about the area & it's faerie heritage!

And you can get lost in the forests....road side parks always offer a snipit of wild nature & more than one person has told me that Faeries run rampant around many of our natural artesian wells, lakes & streams. It's an excellent place for a vaction to begin with; our Faerie Heritage is just a bonus, so you'll both have a wonderful time. Look into these towns:
Traverse City, East Jordan, Petoskey, Sutton's Bay. & the whole NW section of the lower penninsula. Best of luck!
