When my son London was around 2-3 months old My husband and I took him to the second Pirates of the carribean movie. The movie is super long and has loud and quiet moments and he slept right through it. We sat at the very back of the theater for a quick exit if we needed it, but he was fine the whole time. Had he woken up to eat I brought a blanket and would have just breatfed him there with a blanket. I think it is totally okay. You can always leave if you need too. I have seen other people with their babies too.

A newborn (or non-mobile baby) at the movies really isn't a problem if you do it right. Plan a time that baby will be likely to want to nurse and sleep. I wore my daughter in a sling. No one even knew she was there. She was either nursing or sleeping the whole time.

There are also some movie theatres that have special showings for parents (usually during the weekdays) where they don't turn the lights off all the way, have stroller parking, etc. and you're encouraged to bring young kids along so you can see a movie.

We took our 3 month old with us as quickly as we took our 4 year old to be certain 'Horton hears a who' and she or he became wonderful. We waited until eventually the action picture were out for some weeks so the cinema does no longer be so busy. We additionally went to a exhibiting first concern interior the morning because it may be quieter then. We chosen a exhibiting aroung her favourite nap time so it became good. some cinemas do 'novices' screenings that are extremely for clean mum and dad and toddlers, the videos are quieter than favourite and that they only tutor 12A or decrease than videos, it incredibly is all nicely and good yet what in case you prefer to video show an grownup action picture?!? (i do no longer mean porn!!!).i might only take her to a minimum of one and notice how she reacts. Oh and you do no longer pay for toddlers under2 so it won't rely if she would not settle.

Why would you though? It's too loud there and it's rude to do that when other people are around trying to watch a movie and your baby starts crying. Movies are NOT the place for newborns. Regardless of having ear muffs...Babies can wake up anytime they want. So, find a sitter!

yep definitely too loud I know at some movie theaters they have a special viewing for parents with babies in the mornings they lower the volume don't dim the lights as much and offer activities for you to do with your children and they also allow for bathroom breaks contact your local theaters and see who offers it!

Newborns aren't very sensitive with their eyesight or auditory senses so he/she would probably not notice it.
Make sure you're in a desolate place, I was at a theater recently and a man was coughing the whole movie right behaind me, it was disgusting. Germs are everywhere and you definately do NOT want your baby sick.

It is unfair to the people who buy a Ticket to go see the Movies and have to hearing a screaming baby in the background. We've all been through that and hate it. I would think the Loud noise would frighten the child also.

Too loud, too much stimulation. Rent a movie and save going out for when you're ready to hire a sitter.

i used to take my son (good sleeper/nurser) to the movies. but, that was 14 years ago, and the movies were not as loud as they are today. i have trouble today with the volume, sometimes. you might even talk to the management about volume levels.
