Okay, my boyfriend TRIED to get a tongue piercing last night.
He passed out COLD.
He's trying to play it off that it was too hot in the room, and it's not a big deal. I think he's thinking of doing it again.
He also complains that the guy didn't use a gun. I've never seen anyone get their tongue pierced, but I don't think they usually use a gun, do they?
In any case.. has this happened to anyone else? I mean he was OUT. He didn't just swoon, he passed out.
Anyone know anything about it?

In answer to some of your answers...
Yes he's getting it done professionally, and the guy who was doing it freaked out so bad when he passed out that he gave him his money back and bought him a soda.
I figured as much with the gun thing.
And incidentally, he knows I love him and all, but I just got a tattoo yesterday, and it's bigger than his, plus he knows I love guys with tongue piercings, so I think that's why he's doing it... ughh

Dont know bout passing out but Ive got my tongue peirced twice and i never had no problems. However if they had pulled out a gun to pierce it i'd run a mile!!!! YOU DO NOT get anything peirced with a gun other than ears or poss nose unless you fancy a trip to hospital. The peircing of the tongue is done with some kind of needle that seems to turn into a kindof tube so they drop the bar through the tube and pull it out the other side. I find it unusual how you say he was going to have it peirced last night as most reputable peircing studios are only open in the day. Peircings are perfectly safe as long as they are down correctly and looked after. Check out the studio first and make sure they know what they are doing because there are several veins in the tongue that need to be avoided. Dont be put off you just have to know that the peircer is good at what they do! Thinking about it it maybe his sugar levels and thatl be why the guy bought him a soda after. You should make sure youve eaten and had a sugary drink to be on the safe side.

Poor guy. First of all, it not normal to use a gun to pierce the tongue. Most extreme pierces don't use guns for any piercings. Second, he may have been extremely anxious and passed out. In situations that cause a lot of anxiety, a person may pass out. Next time talk to him and get his mind off of what is happening. Make sure he is in a good mood and that he has eaten before the piercing. He should then be fine....then you can laugh at him for fainting the first time.

I'm a chick and I got mine pierced by a professional and I know they don't use a gun they use like a pair of clamps with a hole in them so that they can hold your tongue in place and then they just stick a needle through your tongue. Is he trying to do it himself? You should definately have a professional do it. It only cost $40. I didn't even tear up and b4 I got it done he told me that this peircing is the easiest and fastest one that they do. After 2 mths mine was healed and I love it.

Be very happy that they're not using a gun! For any good peirceing they always use a needle.
It sounds like he's definetly not ready. Make sure he knows you won't think any less of him if he doesn't get it.
