get a credit card with a low limit and only pay like..your cell phone bill with it. and the longer you can keep that up and keep current the better your score will be. just dont get carried away....good luck.

Start by banking where you can get a debit card. You may need to get a "secured" credit card, where you deposit with the lender an amount that becomes your credit limit. (You essentially end up borrowing money from yourself and paying the "lender" interest. Then charge things you know you already have money to pay for, and make sure you make your payments on time, preferably clearing the account every month.

Make up a realistic budget so you know what your "disposable income" is. Never charge enough so your payments exceed this amount, and preferably never let your payments exceed 20% of this amount so that unforeseen events cannot ruin your carefully built reputation. After a couple of years, you will be deluged with offers for credit cards. Accept only those that have no annual fee, and then put all but one away, rotating them so your account stays current.

The only way to increase your credit rating is to borrow money, stay in debt, and pay those payments on time each month.

I would like to challenge you to think about why you would want to be in debt? Why not make a clean start and make the commitment that you will pay for things with cash? It makes life much simpler.
