You should have a usb that plugs into your ipod and then into your computer, that is the way you can charge it or you can get a main charger that plugs into the mains and does the same job as not having to charnge it by your computer

just plug it into the computer on the bottom there is a little plug it into the computer its under the disk drives

plug the cord to your Ipod then plug it up to the computer and it should bring up itunes.
