If you regretted your time with Micheal then I don't think you're being hypocritical. Also, use that experiance to tell her why you don't want her going.

Why would you be a hypocrit for being a backup dancer for Michael Jackson? I would be proud to tell my daughter about that. But you have to be honest and with your daughter and say to your daughter and tell her why you don't want her to be a backup dancer for this group. If it is going to be during the school year then that is reaonable. but if it is during the summer why not. Can you trust her? That is what you have to ask yourself. Both my daughters wanted to dance but they were in an accident that caused them not too. My youngest was worst then my oldest. However, if she was to be called to be a back up dancer for anyone I would tell her to go for it. It is her dream. I have always told them to go for our dreams. If this is something she wants to do and you can control it let her. Like you said she is 16 her life is just beginning. This could be the beginning of a wonderful career for her. Just love her and dream with her.

The reason you don't want her to be a backup dancer, I assume, is because you know what can happen or what goes on with being a backup dancer. You are trying to protect her. If you tell her then she is going to want to go anyhow. She would tell you that she wouldn't let things happen....but you know things happen anyways. She might sneak anyhow. If your daughter is matured and can make good decisions, it might be OK....But try to steer her in another direction. Its a cruel world out there....at least till she is older. Also, if you don't tell her, she is going to find out on her own and be very angry at you. The truth always comes out.

You should definatley tell her. Perhaps share with her some insight about why you don't want her to be a back up dancer. Maybe you fear for her safety? You were exposed to drugs and sex? Maybe you loved every minute of it?

Either way she deserves to know. Make the decision together. She is 16 years old and will only pull herself away from you right now unless you tell her the truth.

I've read some of your stuff before. Are you for real?

If you really have a daughter support her. Maybe she won't do the things that you did.

Don't tell her what you did. Hopefully, she won't fall into your footsteps.

I don't know if you are a hypocrite ...but what you have written here and elsewhere...you don't seem like an honest person.

ABSOLUTELY!! When you share this with her you will not only connect with your daughter at a time that she believes you know nothing about what she is going through, you will also establish you know EVERYTHING about what it is she is attempting to do. If you see this as harmful to her then yes stick to your guns. But if Thriller was the best time of your life and you think this may be hers, let up Mom and let her live.
