He was the head of selling weapons to Iran through Donald Rumsfeld and Oliver North. It was called the Iran Contra scandal. They supplied Iran with American F-14 Navy Tom Cats and spare parts. They also supplied Osama Bin Laden with weapons to fight the Russians with that they are using on our American troops right now. Here are some sources:

Yeah, Reagan WAS a Democrat - until the late '40s when, as president of the Screen Actors Guild (the actors' union) he witnessed first-hand how Communist agitators within the Guild were attempting to take over the Guild. Their tactics (which were both bold and brutal) astonished and enraged him.

Upon further reflection, Reagan decided that his views on the most important political issues of the day were more in tune with the Republican Party and so he switched his political affiliation and never looked back.

Hearing

Hard of hearing, especially in the right ear, since an actor fired a pistol near his head during the making of a motion picture. The film was one of the four, released in 1939 and 1940, in which Reagan portrayed Secret Service agent Brass Bancroft. To avoid causing embarrassment, Reagan never publicly identified the particular film, or the individual who fired the gun.

Began wearing a hearing aid in 1983.

Bible Verse

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotton son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Lifetime Nickname

The nickname “Dutch” was first applied to Ronald Reagan, in childhood, by his father. According to Reagan’s autobiographies, he received the nickname soon after his birth, from his father’s remark that he looked like “a fat little Dutchman.” Reagan has also stated, however, that his father gave him the nickname because of the “Dutch boy” haircut, once popular for little boys, that his mother gave him when he was a toddler. When asked to reconcile the two stories of the nickname’s origin, Reagan stated that the haircut strengthened the use of the nickname.

Religion

Although raised in his mother’s Disciples of Christ denomination, beginning in 1963 Reagan generally attended Presbyterian church services at Bel-Air Presbyterian Church, Bel-Air, California. He became an official member of Bel-Air Presbyterian after leaving the Presidency. In addition, Reagan stated that he considered himself a “born-again Christian.”

Ronald Reagan was an actor in Hollywood - and not a very good one. He was married to Jane Wyman, the actress and was a father when he started his adulterous affair with the actress Nancy Davis.

I remember hearing that he was a Jelly Belly fanatic. Loved the darned things, carried them with him all the time and had a jar of them on his desk in the oval office.

He always kept a jar of jelly beans on his desk, and anybody who was invited into the Oval Office was free to have some. I believe he was even buried with a jar of jelly beans, since he was a big fan of them.

he was the guy who snitced everyone out during the mcarthy trials ..he blamed them for being communists (when many weren't) then he took their roles.

on a side note: did you know that richard nixon was the attorney who was prosecuting them people as well?

any wonder the snitch and the liar both ended up as presidents?

my favorite fact about reagan probably is that he sold guns to a terrorist group so he could fight the "evils" of communism. THEN LIED ABOUT IT AND TIRED TO PASS IT OFF ON NORTH.

but i also liked that fact that he never fought in ww2 but sure thought playing a solider in the movies equaled being part of the war.
