First of all is front drive or rear drive?

One bolt at a time. You have 4 to 6 bolts on the fly wheel that need to come off. You need to disconnect the tranny cooler lines. Disconnect the shift linkage, and any wires that connect any sensors. You then need to disconnect any drive shafts. One this is complete place a tranny jack under the car to support the transmission. Start to remove the bell housing bolts. Once they are all removed take 2 pry bars and separate the bell housing from the motor (sometimes a good smack with a rubber mallet will do. then safely lower the transmission to the floor. I would recommend having a buddy help you with this removal as most auto transmission weight about 150 to 300 lbs...

i own a shop and what kind of a Buick is it,front wheel drive or rear wheel drive,this is needed information to answer this question,good luck with it.

you have to put car on a lift then take bolts off transmission then take off the drive shaft then remove it

if you intend to drop the tranny, and leave the mill still mounted.?
get the car up on a rack, ddisconnect and unbolt the tranny, roll a tall tranny jack under the car and slowly let it come out.
