Counting every war, including the Civil War, WW I and WW II.

They laid down their lives for us whom live in freedom today and I'm curious to know what other Americans think the majority of our brave and fallen heroes would be saying about todays political climate and whether they would be voting Democrat or Republican?

NOSTRADOMUS, nice try....your mindless answer shows you believe that their belief system would be far from yours. So instead of answering you simply do a drive by slander.
have a nice day.

It's pleasant to see the leftys coming out and trying to spin the question. I guess they know the real answer and that they disagree with the hundreds of thousands of men, women, and yes, children that gave their lives to secure their freedom.

A majority was in favor of the Democratic party, at least the ones I have talked to from WWI and WWII. The Civil war would be different. Since the Republican party was an anti-slavery party and they were obviously more in the North than South I think you would find most US soldiers agains the Democratic Party and most CSA more Democratic than Republican and some, at the time, were Whigs some of which favored the war and some opposed it. During the Revolution there were no Democrats or Republicans so that is moot. By the War of 1812 Most people were Democratic-Republicans (Now Democratic) as the Federalst Party was falling apart and The Whigs had not fully formed yet.

Those of the previous wars would likely comment on the polarization brought about by Bush and the neocons and how they have ruined many of the great institutions those people started. The last real polarization we had was Civil War era between North and South over states rights and later Slavery.

Because most of those fellas were small farmers and laborers is suspect they would go mostly for the Democrats today. They didn't always do that, however. They looked at the candidate and many did not worry about party and only their party. As far as outlook there were many who we could call conservative while others we could call liberal by their time and what was going on.

WEll i should start off by saying I'm a democrat so don't misunderstand what I'm saying. I really think that soldiers would be republican. Most statistically are since they get the greatest support from the republican party. I think the more important question to ask is why in the hell are they voting republican lol. If we didn't spend over a third of a trillion dollars in Iraq we wouldn't have as many military bases closing here, we'd have more money to spend on our military. Start blaming the republicans, they are ones causing the problem.

I don't know and neither does anyone else.

what point would it make?

there are just as many Democrats in the military as there are Republicans, that is a fact, unless of course you like to believe what you are told from the barking seal entertainers over at right wing hate radio.

No one can know that. If I were "killed in battle," then more than likely I would cease to care about worldly politics.

I found an interesting chat page listing some comparisons between Democrats and Republicans war records, however:

It is odd that you would pose this question which reminds me of my personal observation, that the majority of the military officers, active or retired, are in fact registered Republicans. Does this fact make for a possible military coup to keep George W. Bush in power indefinitely?
