To error is Human. It's what makes us different from insects. The point is to learn by example and not to become a stupid one. I know this one guy who often says; "Stupid thing!!" which makes me laugh. I said this is why he has so many kids. When I used to trip on a crack on the sidewalk or a rock etc. my father would always say that they outsmarted me. Just imagine some extraterrestrial race watching the stupid things we do is like when we watch the animals at the zoo. Would we be worse off if extraterrestrials had no sense of humor?

I really don't believe humans think they are doing stupid things when they are doing them. I think many make poor decisions or use bad judgment that later they learn was not the right thing. In some cases, people learn and don't repeat the actions but in some cases people keep doing the same things over again. That is the stupid part.

Define Stupid?
if you mean stupid as in something not everyone does cause its not normal is for entertainment, i do that and i find that people calling that stupid as offensive and narrowminded.
if you mean stupid as in things bad for their health, or some other thing like that their could be a veriety of reasons. they may result try to fit in, gain respect, find comfort, etc.

I don't think we do stupid things. I think we do things to satisfy our curiousities and the results of those actions just happen to look stupid to others.

Our Learning is more of tryal and eror than anything else. so We may hve to do stupid things to learn not to do them again!!!!
