My kid has a computer upstairs. Does anyone know how I can get a router to help get the 'net upstairs?

Sure, go to walmart and buy the linksys router, or the belkin, and hook the router to the downstairs modem, and then hook the upstairs puter and the downstairs puters to the router.
Of course, it might be better to get a wireless router and a usb wireless adapter and hook the upstairs puter to the net that way..

You can get a wireless remote from your isp that should work nicely.. that's what we did for our 2nd computer.. and it works very well..
