I am debating whether or not to have a home birth. My first 2 deliveries went really well, no complications and two healthy children. No drugs either. Has anyone had a home birth and if they did how did they come to the conclusion to do it? What did your husbands or partners think? Were your children present? Thank you very much.

My second daughter was to be a homebirth. We planned for over a year for starting long before I was even pregnant. I also know more people who have delivered at home than in hospitals. unfortunately I had a condition called previa and had a C-section in the end but a simple ultrasound can detect that should you choose to deliver at home. A home birth is safer and cleaner than a hospital birth. Your midwife will be 1000x more attentive to you and your needs than a nurse or doctor. You will have the freedom to move about and be taught to follow your body's instructions how how to move to so that your labor is quicker with a less chance of tearing. You will be in charge of your delivery, no one telling you what to do or not to do, no one waking you when you want to be sleeping, no one poking you or acting cold and distant. You will be surrounded by family, friends and midwives who care and love you. Your baby will be born into a quiet, warm environment not a cold hospital room. His first skin on skin contact is not a Dr jerking him out and a rough nurse manhandling him. His first skin to skin touch will be you, his mother as you gently catch him as he slides out and you will place him on your chest. I regret all the time that my children were born in a hospital even though I had a good hospital experience but it's not natural. It's not the way God intended children to enter this world.

If you feel good enough to be at home then go for it. chances are good. a family friend had a home birth and liked it better than at a hospital. there wasn't as much stress at home. her children were present but they got grossed out so they ended up leaving. her husband supported her with a homebirth. good luck. just make sure there is a midwife and the hospital can be easily reached just in case.

My first son became born in scientific institution at 38weeks. It became an exceedingly speedy labour and that i had no soreness alleviation - my waters went and that i had him 12 minutes later! As his labour became extremely hassle-free i might was hoping for a house start with my 2d son. regrettably his placenta ruptured at 28 weeks and that i became rushed to scientific institution. I had an Emergency C - area and awakened on a morphine drip. It became undesirable and has positioned me off having greater toddlers. i think fortunate to have the two i've got have been given!

I delivered my fifth child at home after the first four were born in hospital. It went fine with no complications. He's the only one not circumsized.
