This question is a re-post from several days ago, but many of the responders asked, "What exactly IS domestic discipline?" Good question, and I'm not sure I have the answer. I envision "Jen" in the story I wrote a few years ago as being into "domestic discipline."

That story can be found at http://scotterotica.blogspot.com/2006/06/slip-of-mind.html if you'd care to read it.

I'm still curious to know if there's anyone out there that practices this in reality. My suspicion is that it truly only exists in erotic literature, and that while some may practice it occasionally, it's more of a sexual turn-on than a lifestyle.

All comments (except judgmental ones) are welcome.

Yes...we're really into domestic discipline. We do Christian Domestic Discipline, though, and it's not a game. Have you joined any of the Yahoo groups? If you want to belong to one that doesn't play games, join the Christian Domestic Discipline Yahoo Group or the Traditional Marriage 2 Yahoo group. It is full of folks who truly practice domestic discipline. By the way, I write domestic discipline stories as well.

If domestic discipline is my husband doing the dishes and laundry, YEA I'm into it!

Ok, I just read the story. Nope, that's not for me. Life's hard enough without that kind of mind game in a marriage.

Yes my spouse and I practice domestic discipline. It has helped our marriage a great deal and has given us both a deeper level of respect for each other. It has helped us both be accountable. Trust me there is nothing erotic or fun about having your skirt lifted or pants lowered, taken OTK and spanked wither by hand or with a paddle. It is humbling and hurts. But more importanlty it hurts more to know that I have disappointed my spouse in some way.

It's not what I want in my relationship...relations in our home are 50/50 and to be domineered in that way is not acceptable.

I read the story you referred to.
It would be so humiliating to have a relationship such as the one in the story.
I can't imagine being abused both emotionally and physically by my husband. It is hard to believe that there are women out there that are so insecure they would chose live in that kind of environment.

I also suspect that it's more of a turn on or a fantasy than a lifestyle for most.
