I think that Amy Lee has it tied with Kate Bush, and The women out of All about Eve. I also like Willie Nelson, Micheal Jackson, James Blunt and Damien Rice.

Kate Bush is definitely my pick I have all of her songs and videos. She fills up half of my 2gb MP3 player and I listen to her every day. She is a pioneer in her field and paved the way for the likes of Amy Grant, Sarah Slean, Sarah McLachlan etc...
As for her lyrics Experiment IV chilling, Wuthering Heights no one can even compare.

I definatley think Michael Jackson has an incredible voice and is overlooked as being a song writer. People see him more as a dancer but MJ is a triple threat:
Singer/Dancer/Songwriter..that is what makes him untouchable.

This chick, Amy Winehouse, my hubby found yesterday on iTunes. She has a great voice. Writes all her own songs. Has an old motown sound with a great old skool hip hop sound mixed in. You should really check her out.

The Lennon/McCartney team. They have been the two the main astounding writers and singers to grace this earth. they have written a number of the main nicely time-commemorated songs immediately which incorporate, "howdy Jude", "think of", "supply Peace a great gamble", "I wanna carry your hand", and "Twist and Shout". They the two deserve the credit for "maximum gifted song author ever", because of the fact they have been a phenomeon, and could consistently be a phenomenon.

The best voice part is definitely arguable for some people (not me!), but Bob Dylan has it for the most talented songwriting hands down.
