It seems to be that PM Olmert is one of the worst leaders in the history of Israel. Though under his rule economy of Israel is doing well, however, his political decisions on everything else are less then desirable. Furthermore, he has the lowest rating for his term then any other world leader.

Then the other day the far left Meretz party’s founder mentioned on Israeli radio that he is against bringing Orthodox Jews into Israel. Well, his exact words were, “We do not need their kind in Israel?”

Are we losing our zest and drive in building a Jewish nation?

By examining their actions it beginning to look that we are repeating the same mistakes that the Jews have made during the Roman Empire. It wasn’t the Romans that destroyed the Temple, but two Jewish families who could not get along with each other. I just hope that we are not making the same mistakes all over again.

we seem to be our own worst enemies...

I would not worry so much about Olmert, he is worthless and soon enough his own party will turn on him or collapse.

As for Meretz, I would love to see him say that to the families who have kids in Hesder units, especially the ones who have died in combat.

The majority of the Orthodox who are immigrating to Israel are the zionistic type which do fight for Israel.

as for losing zest, Yes, Israel is losing its drive.

Lebanon was a wake up call, but I fear Israel will need a stronger kick in the pants than that.

Can I answer if I'm Israeli but not Jewish?

Israeli politics is in a state, but at least Sharon's no longer in charge, and Netenyahu would be even worse.

And the Meretz man has a point. Extremely Orthodox jews don't exactly contribute to the Israeli economy, and they don't fight in the Army. Israel was founded as a secular country in which Jews could finially be the masters of their own destiny. Many Orthodox jews don't contribute to this, but detract from it.

Yes, Israel has lost its 'zest', as you put it, but this is because the Jewish nation is already built. Maintaining a nation is never as interesting.

I hope they haven't started turning to Christianity. Look what that did to Rome. The best solution would be to purge religion from the middle east before it destroys the entire region.

i think of that your prognosis is truly maximum superb. Please bear in mind that Condi Rice has forced Israel to do issues that are no longer in Israel's maximum suitable hobbies. as quickly as the West includes the top that Radical Islam can provide an existential possibility, then they're going to start to assist Israel and not the Muslims. even if this isn't any longer too late with the help of then. on the different hand, the explanation for the conflict between Israel and the Arabs is that the Arabs, undeniable and easy, refuse to settle for a Jewish state of their midst. They invented this entire theory of a "Palestinian people who deserve a state" just to apply as a gadget to dismember Israel. previous to partition, Palestinian Arabs did no longer view themselves as having a separate identity. while the 1st Congress of Muslim-Christian institutions met in Jerusalem in February 1919 to % Palestinian representatives for the Paris Peace convention, right here selection replace into accompanied: "We evaluate Palestine as area of Arab Syria, because it has never been separated from it at any time. we are related with it with the help of national, non secular, linguistic, organic, financial and geographical bonds. "there is not any such u . s . as Palestine! 'Palestine' is a term the Zionists invented! there is not any Palestine in the Bible. Our u . s . replace into for hundreds of years area of Syria." - Auni Bey Abdul-Hadi, a close-by Arab chief, to the Peel fee, 1937 The Arabs who now call themselves "Palestinians" gain this with a view to cajole a misinformed international that they seem to be a definite nationality and that "Palestine" is their ancestral native land. yet they're no diverse nationality in any respect. they're the comparable - in language, custom, and tribal and kinfolk ties - because of the fact the Arabs of Syria, Jordan, and previous. there is not greater difference between the "Palestinians" and the different Arabs of those international locations than there is between, say, the voters of Minnesota and those of Wisconsin. From the viewpoint of international regulation, as lengthy as no different u . s . has sovereignty over the land the place Jewish settlements are placed, they're one hundred% legal.

All this shows is that despite shouting anti-semitism at every opportunity, Jews like every other race have their follibles and are just as racist and divided as Americans as a whole.
