The market dictates....sometimes the newness of a business creates more sales...sometimes its just the beginning. You must create new business...explore new markets...product expansion...experiment with different sizes of product or new medium to get the word out....generate repeat business ...compliment your product with someone Else's in a joint venture. Find someone who has a very large list of customers that would benefit from your product and make a deal to split the profits made if he promotes your product. Good luck!

Not necessarily. If the current business success is due primarly to the relationship between the current owner and his/her customers, you will need to find a way to maintain this relationship. And, you will need a written agreement non-compete agreement with the former owner (so they do take the customers away from you).

Usually. Do not make big changes when you first begin to run it, as the customers may not like the changes. Make only small ones, such as a cleaner and more efficiently run business, and approachable personell if there are problems will greatly increase your income.
