Well once we get out of school and go on with our lives we attend to forget and it's normal. We used to know them but if you dont' say it everyday you forget the words.

Too many immigrants. Islam for example has only been in America for the past forty years. A lot of the immigrants do not share our patriotism and knowing the words to our National Anthem is pride in America.

This is why. Many people take for granted the Star Spangled Banner because they either don't care to try and learn the anthem or they don't think about it.

There are much better songs out there if patriotism is your bag.
