A Greyhound. They are the most wonderful gentle dogs.My dog is an ex racing dog as are most greyhounds.People very kindly say how lucky he is to have found a good home but it is he who has given the most happiness. With his gentle nature we are able to have evenings with the Brownies and at special schools where we show a video of them racing followed by the re homing process. He visits a nursing home too. I know it is only a matter of time before I will have two !

Cocker spaniels are the best family dog. They have a lovely temperament and never snap or bite. They are beautiful and very cute!
Blue roan and tan is better than a solid colour because the solid colours can sometimes get very hyper and silly (in some cases solid colours have bitten)
good luck if you're thinking of getting a dog!

I already am doing that with Cardigan Welsh Corgis. I love the breed, they are good dogs, beautiful and unique, they are wonderful companions, I do it to better and to represent the breed, and show the dog in conformation, and they are into herding and agility. I am a good responsible breeder, and beg anyone thinking of breeding dogs to do TONS of research and dont do it cause its cool, you think you'll make money, you think you are giving people great pets, or you just want to see what you'll get from your pet, oh yeah and that age old "i want to teach my kids the fact of life" . These are not responsible breeding reasons.

A small breed first choice of mine would be a Pomeranian. They are smart, easy to train, lovable and wonderful companions. For a large breed, I would choose a Rottweiler. The intelligence level of these fine dogs is incredibly high. They are protective of their owner(s), also easily trained and a superior companion.

Just between you and me, I'm coming back in my next life as my Maltese and she is going to be me. That way she can find out how it feels to be a slave to a darn dog. She sits on me, lays on me and barks at me when I don't do what she wants by reading her mind. She goes nuts if I try to groom her but acts like she adores it when the groomer does it. She will turn around and pee on the rug although she has only been back in the house for three minutes and only barked at the door one soft tiny woof. Yep, I want to be a Maltese.

I would normally saw a Rottweiler as i have had the breed before and they are loyal, loving and great with kids (as long as they are well brought up and socialised) though for the last 2 years I have dreamed of getting a puggle, theyre small cute and with smaller accommodation and garden theyd be ideal.

Maybe a whippet as we had those when we were kids. Or another Pharoah Hound. They are seriously mad characters and stunning to look at. The one we had went all the way to Crufts and won his class.
Mind you, I wouldnt say no to being a terrier of some sort! Maybe a jack russell. Small and friendly characters.

I really love golden retrievers but if I was taking a dog(and I might when I retire) I would take a greyhound from one of the rescue homes as they are lovely and are unfairly dumped when their racing days are over.

A cocker spaniel. I own one and him and I are so alike! Either we're chilled out relaxing on the couch being lazy, or extremely hyper. We're both easily distracted(ADD!). And we have a deep need to be loved and needed constantly. They call cocker spaniels "velcro dogs." Well, I'm a velcro person!
