Yes, a very popular dish is steak and kidney pie or pudding. They do have a some-what distinctive taste. When I was about 8years old, I asked my mother how they took the urine out of the kidney before it was sent to the butchers; she told me they did not,that is the reason for the distinctive taste! I never ate kidney again. A lot of kidneys are put into dog food nowadays.

Steak and kidney pie is popular in the UK. I always thought they tasted too mush like urine smells. I have seen them in the grocery, but have not cared to fix them after having them once.

Probably -- organ meat (I'm assuming you mean from animals) is full of protein and vitamins. We eat calves' livers here (OK, I don't personally, but liver and onions was big in the Midwest when I was growing up).
