Hi
I had been playing Classical guitar for 3 years untill i gave it up because my private tutour moved away. 12 months later i have decided to play again, im now saving up for an electric guitar and am playin my folk guitar. Instead of playing classical i now want to play rock. Are there any songs sites books etc which can help me start off rock with an acoustic guitar and then movin onto to electric? Any tips on how to strum chords more effectively and how to switch between notes would be good.

Thx

Buying books from ebay can help. They have useful Led Zepplin, and Black Sabbath books, suited for electric guitar, but may help on acoustic though. There is also a Guitar Method series of books, that are just basic learning songs. They aren't very Rockish though. Using a pick to strum chords helps, and make sure not to slide on the string while going from one note to another. You could also go to Borders, they have guitar books. There are some good sites that have music pages you can print out.

I would work on learning and practicing pop songs or whatever else you like. The tabs on the Internet are usually helpful. If you just practice switching between G, C, and D chords, it might not be the most helpful. Practicing some real songs will build your skills and keep you entertained.
