Sometimes trying to push yourself into labor doesnt work, the baby will come when he/she is ready and they will let you know..If u are only at 1 cm and overdue right now u will probably get induced because it looks like things are moving a little slow..Dont worry, lots of women get induced and it speeds up the labor process dramatically. With my first i was induced and I would walk miles and clean etc and i never progressed past 1 on my own no matter what i tried to do...

With my second,I was overdue also and was at 2 cm for 3 weeks before my doctor decided to induce me at 41 weeks....When i went into the hospital they used cervidil on my cervix which they wrap around it to help it soften so it can dialate easier and then they were gonna induce me,all i needed was that cervidil and i was progressing on my own without having to be induced...For right now, just try walking A LOT ,have sex *if u can bear it,it helps!!*,clean the house and just keep yourself up and moving, these should help some,if not then just wait for that baby or your doctors orders on inducing you..good luck!!

It is common to be at 1 or even 4cm dialated for a couple of weeks before labour. DO NOT try any method of speeding things up unless your doctor approves of the specific method. If you are less than a week overdue just let nature take t's course. If you are more that 10 days late and your due date is confirmed by ultrasopund I would push for induction, because too late can be dangerous but home induced labour could kill the baby

I feel your pain! Two of my three children were each TWO WEEKS overdue. It was miserable, and I cried every day for the last week. Unfortunately, there is really nothing that you can do to help labor along. Believe me, I asked my doctor several times! Although, with my last child, I happened to be seeing a chiropractor on a regular basis, and he swore he could give me an adjustment that would put me into labor. I thought that was a load of crap if I had ever heard one! However, I begged him to go ahead and do the adjustment one afternoon....it was about 4:00 p.m., and I went into labor shortly after midnight the same night! It could have been nothing but a coincidence, but I guess it would be worth a try :))

I had my baby at 42 weeks. The doctor had to strip my membranes and thats what did the trick. I had tried walking, but it didn't work.

my sister told me that having sex helps alot. try that and then go walk at the mall. if that doesn't help you can have your dr induce you.
