I think that next season (season 7) should be it for Smallville. I mean it should bow out with some class and not continue to milk story lines. It is great now esp. after Promise. But can we really keep it going for several more years. What do you guys think?

I agree, especially now that they have said we will never see him as Superman. There's only so far you can go before he decides to put on the suit. Love the show, but I get tired of the same problems/gimmicks week after week.

From what I understand the contracts for Lex, Lana and Chloe all expire at the end of season 7.

one could argue that season 8 could be done with CK traveling the globe solo ala Birthright

as to the No tights/no flights rule and him never becoming Superman within the series, keep in mind that typically he doesn't suit up until he's 26-30 years old and in Smallville he's still only 20-21 right now.

They only plan on going to Season 8. With creation of the CW split off of WB, Warner Brothers made sure that Tom Welling would never wear the RED and BLUE! That sucks!
Personally I like Superman Returns but I didn't love it. They had Tom Welling as a last choice after some British guy(Ello I'm Superman), come on. I do however think just like there are several different Story-lines of Superman Comic Books, that the CW should entertain the idea and revisit some of these Contracts.

I agree with you too, the writers already planned season 7 so there will be another season, but after that I think they should end it, as you said we would rather have an exciting/ amazing ending, then a season with repeated story lines.

I thougjht seasn 6 was going to be it. They've been on for long enough. Ending with season 7 is fine by me.

As long as they keep making it interesting & exciting, I'll keep watching. I thought season 6 was crap, but they totally redeemed themselves this season.

They'll keep making them as long as people watch. It's not like they're going to keep pumping out episodes long after they discover noone's interested anymore.
