i havent seen the movie but last night on the history channel they had a 2 hour documentary/remake of the history of the battle.the spartans were some bad bad mfers.it was around the time the guy ran from "marathon" to sparta (26.6 miles) to announce the athenians defeated the persians.shortly after.

It is not based on the actual history of the battle. It is based off of a comic book that was based off of one of the numerous "stories" of what happened. So, in the end it is very LOOSELY based on the actual battle.

The most accurate point to it all was that they used the phalanx.

Its made for entertainment...The battles were hardcore and the Spartans were like that but the 300 part is no totally true...they did kick the persians asses though

It's not. It was a real disappointment because I love history, then again it was based on a comic. The guys were hot.
