After the first 2 hours of work the employer is required to provide a 10 minute break After the next 2 hours a 30 minute break is required for a meal. And again, 2 hours later a 10 minute break is required. The meal break is not paid unless your required to remain on the job (i.e, answering phones, being "on call", etc). This is an OSHA regulation that ensures workers remain alert while on the job.

I am not sure. I know that in Ontario Canada. if you are scheduled to work for 5 hours or more your employer must give you a 30 minute unpaid eating period. the 30 minutes can be broken down into 2 smaller periods of 15 minutes, but still unpaid.

Yes, you generally must receive an unpaid meal period for every five hours worked unless your shift will end at six hours. Som eindustries have different rules. Each industry has a wage order that must be posted in the workplace (those boring posters that you probably walk by every day without reading them?) Look on the wage order under "meal and rest periods", or check with your local Department of Labor office, to find the rules that apply to your job.

They are required to give you a break if you work a certain period of time and I guess you could eat then. Varies by state.
When I was working in a printing factory in Ohio we had 2 15 min daily breaks and 30 min lunch.

Anyone who works a minimum of 6 hours is entitled under federal law to a 30 minute unpaid meal period. You might also be entitled to two fifteen minute breaks, but I'm not sure off the top of my head.
