I know I don't make straight As. I fall in Biology and Algebra2 where I make 86s and 88s, but in my other 6 classes, I make all As. I challenge myself. I'm in an accelerated computer class, I'm taking Pre-AP English, and I'm a year ahead in Math.

Whenever I'm out, I do what my parents ask me to do. I call them when I'm there, all that.

However, I get mad when I don't have personal space! They creep up on me, wondering what I'm doing on the computer or something. Of course I lie sometimes about doing homework when I'm not, but that's not a big deal. I rarely miss deadlines and I go to work b4/during lunch/after school whenever it's neccessary.

I do favors for my parents, etc. I have extra-cirricular [sp?] activities. I volunteer, but for some reason my parents don't trust me!

I've tried to talk to them about this. The worst thing I've ever done is they wanted me to break up with my gf and I didn't...

THEY'RE SO STRICT AND CONTROLLING...

Won't listen either...

Why did they want you to break up with this girl? Was she a bad influence? Did they think she was leading you down a path to someplace bad?

They look over your shoulder and ask questions because they love you and want to be sure you're okay. You seem to be a very smart boy, but there are some things in life you don't learn from text books and they don't want you to have to learn it the hard way..

Sit down and have a mature and open discussion with them about cutting you loose a little at a time. You can't expect immediate "Freedom" becuase they are your parents and want you to be safe. Ask for a little leeway here and there and pretty soon you'll inch your way to complete independence.

Also realize that no matter how old or mature you think you are, they will always see you as the diaper clad curtain climber with food on his face. You'll be glad they do, some day.

They're just protecting you from this big bad world! They're just lookin out for you! But I do think independence is the best lesson you could ever learn!! My parents let me easy , so I learn it all myself !!

I'm 39 and my mum is a control freak.
Do this, do that, did you do...blah, blah, blah.
That's the way parents are.
Can't live with them, can't live without them.

They love you. Be glad that you have parents that care enough. And just keep telling yourself that one day you'll be eighteen and on your own. Enjoy it while you can.
