Has anyone ever walked into your yard, looked around and then knocked on your door asking you how much you wanted for one of your yard decorations or cars?? I have people knocking on my door from time to time asking me how much I want for my gazebo, car, truck, or yard decorations! They all say they were driving by and seen it and would like to buy it....??They just waltz up to my door and ask how much do I want for the item as if they were asking for a price check at the store! A few years ago I had some older lady come to my house wanting to buy my plants, chairs and even my cat! LOL. Then my neighbor has encountered people stopping at her house asking the same thing. Every place I have lived I have been asked "how much". Just wondering if other people has encountered the same.

No, i live in Michigan but this happened when I lived in Tennessee as well! The lady that wanted my plants was told she could go to the green house and get them for 3-5.00 but she wanted the ones I had so she paid me 10.00 a pice for them! I had a guy give me 700.00 for a junk truck that had a shot trany system because he had to have the frame and a lady who kept comming back for my gazebo with higher offers each time. If she comes back with a offer of 800.00 I may think about it, LOL.

Never had that problem.

I guess people here r in too much of a hurry to notice anything. Ive seen yards that I liked but never stop'd to ask nor would I.
People here r very private when it comes to their yards. They dont like to be bothered or anything else. They put up bushes & such to hide the view of their houses, gardens, yards, etc.

We just moved outside of Phoenix to the burbs. Out here, it seems no1 cares what theirs or anyone's yards look like. For the most part, the ground is graded off so every1's having to plant stuff.
Hopefully when I get my property look'g good, people will stop by & say hi & will ask about it. We live on a private road so I'd put a sign out for visitors to come on a certain day if they're curious as to what I've planted.

Not sure if U live in a Home Owner's Association or not, but give this a shot. Get some poster board & make a sign that says,~

Thank you for taking an interest in our yard. We are glad that you like it, but please do not knock on our door in regards to it. Ur enjoyment of it makes us happy enough.

~Or something along those lines.

No but I did come home from work one day and my mail box is out by the sidewalk about 15 feet from our house the mailbox is surrounded by flowers and some one had dug a hole and taken half of my silver mound plant which is really sad because I enjoy giving plants away if this person would have came up to my door I would have given them a whole plant. . .

I live in modesto ca and if that happened here I would most definitely believe they were casing my house. Maybe you should put up a no soliciting sign. Or when they ask prices look around and say "where'd you see the yard sale sign"? they would say they did not see one, you reply exactly .personally i would not be too comfortable with the situation.

i've had that happen to me but with my dog instead. the story is that i have a german shepard but her coat isn't like yellowish or anything like that her coat is like a dark red and for a couple of months i thought my dog was a different breed so i went to the pet store to make sure it was a german shepard and it was but anyway in the past year about 12 people have come asking to buy her and then some dog collector person offered me $4000 for her but i said no and he kept coming back for like 4 months....

You bet! In fact I sold my last car to such a person. He was visiting a neighbor, and came over to look at my car, and ended up buying it.

I just sold my truck that way. It saved me the expence of listing it, and when I told the person I was planning to, he raised his offer.

That was my first experience.

I have never had that problem, but I would say an outrageously high price, and if they are willing to pay, take it!
