I have no idea how this relates to physics, but it's in my science textbook. I need help:
Suppose you are an astronaut making a space walk outside your space station when your jet pack runs out of fuel. How can you use your empty jet pack to get you back to the station?
Please explain

Every action has an equal and opposite reaction.
face away from the space station and throw the backpack away from you. You will be propelled back towards the space station by the reaction to your throw.

It's about momentum conservation.

The principle of conservation of momentum states that the total momentum of a closed system of objects (which has no interactions with external agents) is constant. [wikipedia]

Think about explosion and this principle.
