I will be leaving school soon and leaving behind my best male friend, and im looking for some rock songs which are about missing a friend and which show how much someone means to you, as i want to request a song for him at an under 18s night in a rock club . thanks in advance

The best song is "Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd wich was dedicated to Syd Barret who was no longer in the band because of illness, it's a beautiful song... You can also try "By My Side" by INXS or maybe "My Friends" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, but I'm not so sure about the last one.

'Missing' by Everything But The Girl. It's not a rock song though. There is a jigged-up dance version.
I was also going to mention 'How You Remind Me'.
If you want to be SERIOUSLY cheesy, there's the great 'Friends Will Be Friends' by Queen.

Hmmm well I was gonna say How to save a Life by The Fray It was written about the lead singer's friend committing suicide though. And I don't think you want to scare your roommate by giving him that song!!!

i really like my chemical romances Helena its about Gerard Ways Grandmother dying but the lyrics are like 'so long and goodnight' type it in you tube and he look very fit in the video!! :)

Hmmm.... there are lots and other people have suggested others, and i cant think so, if you cant find anything - play your friends favourite song, even if it doesnt really fit, he might appreciate it.
