White women complain that they should be considered to a be a minority group because they have less economic and political power as men but dont they have more power than men in some areas.
For one white women live longer than any group of people in the us and the majority of health care funding goes towards their issue.
Secondly, all women are still not required by federal law to sign up for selective service when they turn 18 like men.
Three, white women were more receive a lighter sentence for the same crime or be sentenced to death for capital crimes such as 1st degree murder because of their race and gender.
Four, women tend to be favored more in child custody and divorce law.
So if all my points are proven to be true why are white women considered to be a minority group like blacks, hispanics, and indians if they receive more special privileges like these groups?

White women were and are the major beneficiaries of affirmitive action. Employers can get away with not hiring visible minorities if they have the option of hiring white women. Now that they have achieved parity with white men, most white women oppose affirmitive action because they do not want other visible minorities to become their equals. Hence in states ranging from Washington to Michigan white women vote against affirmitive action. And by the way most of the women who are in engineering are of Asian origin.

I am opposed to affirmative action and gender/race-specific scholarships. I consider the idea that women and minorities need a leg up to be a condescension.

Absolutely not, but check out this funny statement from NOW:
--------------------
Myth: My son can't get into a good school because of affirmative action.
Fact: If half of the people of color who are admitted to schools under affirmative action programs were cut, the acceptance rates of white men would only increase by 2%.
Women still face barriers in schools. In Washington, women receive only 12% of doctorates in engineering, and women are substantially under-represented in computer science nationwide.
--------------------
I particularly like how they source and back up the 2% "fact." Note how they are SURE to include ethnic minorities to give themselves credibility.
I am sitting here wondering, if women are graduating high school more often than men and graduating (and attending) college more often than men, how exactly are they worthy of affirmative action in a college setting?
Would any feminist like to enlighten me? I guess it's because they're "underrepresented" in engineering/computer science, as NOW claims. What a GREAT reason to give them some more benefits!

Perhaps because the whites-not just the women- are out numbered in america.there are more hispanics, blacks, asians, etc living in america than whites. why do you think america now has to learn second languages, such as spanish?.. it's a double minority to be a white woman.

Get real, no one should be considered a minority if you are a citizen of the United States. We are supposed to be considered the "Melting Pot" but it seem like we always have to put someone on the bottom and call them "The Minority". How ridiculous is that?

No sir. I don't believe that white women should be considered a minority group. You have African American women who are considered a double minority black and woman. Although women in general have in the past been considered the lesser of the two sexes, I think we have overcome a great deal of diversity issues, and will continue to in the future.

I remember when the word "minority" meant "lesser in numbers".
I am a white woman.
No, white women are no way a minority.. We have it made. The only oppression we women get is "getting paid less for doing the same job" and sexist opinions by men who think we are the weaker sex.
Don't get me wrong I think it sucks that women get paid less for the same jobs that men do.
Alas, the benefits outweigh the costs by a mile.
But don't we tend to expect the men to pay for dinner, open doors, and generally work hard for our affection/attention.
If you see a woman smacking up her man in the park, you walk by and giggle and think the guy probably deserved it.
If you see a man smacking up his woman in the park, you intervene or call 911.
I have more but not enough time to say it here.
