On one of the sites I googled I found this:
"My name's Dani and I live in Barcelona. I'm working in a Tourist Information Center. My main job is to give all kind of information related to the city. I love this job and I try to help as much as I can the visitor." And this is what he said about Horta Labyrinth Park:
"The garden is arranged with a graceful Italian touch on three levels, or staggered terraces. On the upper terrace there is a pond that collects the water to irrigate the garden; small domed temples held up by Tuscan columns are found on the middle terrace, and on the lower terrace is the small labyrinth, formed by hedges of trimmed cypresses, which gives the park its name. In fact, this is the most original part of the area."

Another site agreed, saying that the "irrigation water receptacle" is a pond from which the rest of the gardens are watered. The source of the pond is not disclosed - a spring, a stream, a well???
