I went from playing a tenor sax to playing an alto. I sound different to my friends. We seem to be out of tune. I don't want things to end on a sour note. Even my girlfriend, Claire Annette has left me.

LOLOLOLOL...lmfao. This had me crackin' up. Cuz i read it thinking it was a serious question at first...and I felt really bad. Like oh your life must just be miserable if changing your sax in the band was the biggest move you are making in your life. But then I just started laughing. The Claire Annette thing was hilarious. Well, stay saxy and don't get into any violins.

Well, it like being a celebrity once you hit a down fall everybody acts different. To me, they are fake no matter what you change, I will never abandon a friend or the person I am dating. I used to be a trumpet player, if my so called friends abandon me the next time they get in trouble and they need my help I would act like I'm brain dead and walk away. They are playing a sour note not you practice makes perfect.

Obviously they were not your real friends. Real friends do not abandon them. I have a lot of guy friends and if they had a sex change, I would never abandon them. Like you said you are still the same person inside. Everyone's appearance changes over time, we get older and look and sound different, therefore, a sex change should be no different. I am sorry to hear that you lost your friends, but if they are friends they will come around in time. It hurts now and I am sure it will take everyone time to adjust. Just keep up your spirit, you made a choice that makes you feel good, so your friends, your real friends, in time will come around. Good luck and stiff upper lip.

It all depends on the situation; was there violins involved. It would be easy to see how they would abandon you under these circumstances. Sax and violins are a bad combination. It could also be because they are cellist. At any rate, you should strive to regain that harmony. (Barring that, you can always go out with Melody, I hear she is a sweet little piccolo!)

Either a clever word play, or you really do mean the musical intrument. Either way my answer would be the same. :)

For some people, change is simply hard for them to accept, and harder when its not something they expected to have to cope with. They see it as affecting THEM, and need some time to adjust to the 'new sounding you'

Yes YOU are still the same person, and hopefully some of those friends will be able to see past your 'sound' and realise its still you, the friend they have always known.
And good on you for having the courage to take up the insturment you feel fits you better, despite other peoples perceptions or ears.

Maybe they should guitar there minds out of the gutter. You made me laugh. That's a good one. Oh my God, I just got the Claire Annette thing. Maybe your friends got Tuba changed. At least you didn't change to xylophone, that would really hurt.

Sounds like your sax change was a big shock to everyone. Did you just spring this change on everyone? You need to give people the chance to adjust to our sax change. Did your voice change too?

You know it's sad, a lot of people who undergo a sax change are subject to a lot of sax-related violins.

Well I'm very sorry that you've lost your friends hun.....but in all reality even those who dont believe in God, are a bit afraid of people who try to "Play God" with thier bodies!! Just repent and ask God to forgive you, and for God to allow your friends to forgive you as well. Smile!!!!
