Do you just throw them out?

I donate all my old blankets, quilts, etc. to the local homeless shelter. I look for organizations in my community that will accept the household items my family has outgrown or gently used. I only discard what is not acceptable to donate.

Donate them to the Salvation Army, or any homeless shelter, or womens shelter. They are in need of blankets and coats and clothing all the time. If you do, you might even get a receipt that you can claim on your taxes. :)

If they are not in good enough shape to resell (yard sales, thrift shops), donate to an animal shelter or hospital. They are always in need.

Depends on what sort of condition they are in; if they could be used again, I would donate them.
