You get a new house if you successfully deliver papers to all the subscribers on your route.
In other words, if you successfully deliver a paper to each white house on your route, a red house will become a white house the next day.
You know you successfully delivered a paper when you hear that little music jingle after throwing a paper at a white house.
Whether a previous customer returns or not I can't say. I think the new customer is chosen at random.
