I walked out of my first job I had right out of the military. My brother was gracious enough to verbally assualt me for over 20 plus minutes straight -- as my trainer. When it became apparent he wanted to get physically violent with me I voted with my feet -- Best thing I ever did.
If they treat you like dirt then grab the car keys and do the logical thing, leave. It's NOT worth getting into a fight over and there's usually nothing you can do, especially if the boss is in charge and doing the assaulting. It may seem contrary to what people are telling you, but it is the smartest way to deal with a problem child.
Reason left: Personal reasons...end of story.

Walking off the job is probably not the most mature way you could have handled this dispute. Talking to your boss generally accomplishes more than storming out.
Many companies have rules against eating in company-owned trucks or equipment, both for the safety of the driver and passengers as well as for the sake of other people who have to use that equipment and don't want to find your french fries under the seat.
Having tea or coffee happens at break times which are sanctioned by the company and by law. It is unreasonable to tell you you can't have a cuppa? Probably...is it unreasonable for them to want to work while you're on the clock instead of hanging out in the office taking an extra break? Probably not.
Next time try to come to agreement before you walk off the job.

You get sanctions on your JSA for voluntarily leaving your job for up to six months. What you should have done was put in a grievance to your management about your manager, and if it wasnt resolved then maybe resign and claim constructive dismissal ie they made it impossible for you to work there because of the conditions. However thats the most difficult claim to prove most of the time. Its not much use to you knowing that now. If you have a family, get your *** down to the cab to check out what other benefits you might get.

it seems they found u fool or something like that. Be aware of your rights: i mean human right above all. You are a service man not a servant or slave of any body in the society. You serve your organization : not a or a .set of management personnel. You can resign if u are mentally frusteted..as i did from many jobs which seemed poorly governed. Donot think or be anxious of your career.. if u are capable ..and skillful many a jobs waiting for u.

You can't get benefits when you've walked out on a job,if you look at it from your bosses view he has to be in charge and needs his company to meet his standards,my husband sets off a bit earlier so he can get a cup of tea before he starts. I'm not having a go at you but is your stomach really worth quitting your job!?

It was not smart just to walk. You should have found out the company's complaints procedure and followed that, if you thought you were being victimised.

If you was with a UNION you would be consulted about what to do. Don't ever just walk out of a job. I have and i ended up going back within 2 weeks. Bloody terrible it was... :(
