I was just fired from my job over a medical problem that I have had for over 10 years. I have been at the job for over a year. I was fired because of the fact that I have Crohns disease and I had missed some days from work because of it. At the staffing agency I didnt have any personal sick time or short term disability from the job I could take. So I had took a month off to recoorperate I told my staffing manager at the agency what was going on she said ok. So when I got better I contacted the agency to place me at a new assignment to work. She said that I need a note from the Dr stating that I could start back to work and that this would not interfere with me missing any more days. I was fine for 2 months I started back full-time since my illness I had missed 1 day for illness and missed another I had an med emergency & had to miss the whole day I have an drs note excusing me when i came back the next day they fire me and i told them i had a note they didnt want to see note? help.

Don't think they can legally fire you if you had a written medical note. Not sure where you live but you should check to see if you have a fair employment agency. If your place of employment was in the wrong the agency will fight for you. They usually have lawyers that know the law.

It sounds from what you describe that you were fired for excessive absenteeim, not because you have a disease. If your doctor released you to full duty and you continued to take time off for medical reasons, the company was within their rights to discipline you for missing too much time.

You do have the right to take a leave of absence if your doctor determines that you are in need of one. It appears the company granted that right to you. If you exhausted yoru available leave time, again, the company usually has the right to terminate yoru employment.
