There are many different kinds of sleep disorders, one of which is sleepwalking. Getting up to go to the bathroom while still asleep is not all that uncommon. (My sister peed on the living room couch once!) Ask your Dr. for a referal to a sleep disorder clinic. There are medications to help once a diagnosis is made. Good luck and don't worry.

Hello there ~ it can be extremely disturbing to find out that you have been doing certaing things you were unaware of at the time.
Co-incidentally, there was just a tv program on just that last week, where some poor guy whose last memory was reading a book in bed, is now up on charges of drunk driving, since he was stopped by the police for driving erratically!
I don't want to scare you by telling you this, at all, but it is way more common a phenomenon than is realized by most.

It can be caused by many things; "sleep apnea", where you literally stop breathing for many seconds; prescription medication for sleep, (many of which have been told to revise the "blurb" you get with them about possible side effects) and depression, which can interfere with your sleep cycles.

There is much more, and you should definately get it checked out by your doctor, and maybe undergo some diagnostic tests.

No-one likes to think they have an alter-ego out there doing god knows what without their knowledge, for sure!

Rather than my going on about it all here, why don't I suggest some places you could go on the web which will go into lots more detail for you.

If you just go to your local friendly web browser and type "causes of sleepwalking" into the address bar ~ you will have hundreds of sites from which to choose before you can count to 3!

Good Luck, and I hope you find some valuable answers.
