internet browser(IE and Firefox) closes when i upload stuff... why?

what's wrong with my computer?

when i try to upload stuff (particularly when the directory comes up and you search for the item/file) it closes my internet browser... how come this is happening?

this happens with IE and Firefox,, don't have opera n netscape

pls help me... uploading files is very important to me
