This is an oldie (set in 1930s England), but sooo romantic. Tryst by Elswyth Thane. It's about a girl who falls in love with a ghost.

If you want to read a book that's a true story, try
"Treacherous Love" about a girl who falls in love with her teacher. It's an anonymous diary.
