I haven't really invested much research into peak fertility days and what not considering I'm a virgin... but I do know that if the vaginal area comes into contact with penile fluids.. even pre-c um there is a chance of pregnancy....so my question is.... When are the peak infertility days for a woman's cycle... i know this is a real general question but I just want a general answer

The days after ovulation and until the 5th day of your cycle. Unfortunately, it's very hard to know when exactly your ovulation is, so unless you want to risk pregnancy and std's use a condom and preferably an additional form of birth control.

The peak days are around when you ovulate.

SO, for my examples, I'll assume you're on a 28 day cycle. If so, most women ovulate in the middle of their cycles--we'll say day 14, but this isn't always the case.

two easy ways to figure out ovulation are:
1. when you have the clear, slippery, egg-white-like mucus in the middle of your cycle
2. if you chart your bbt--your temp will suddenly dip and then rise when you've ovulated.

Okay, so the next key to determining the peak fertility days is how long sperm lasts. In general, it's only supposed to last 2-3 days. My husband's lasts 4 days--I know this because that's how we figured out we're pregnant this mont--surprise! even further, the egg only lasts about 24 hours.

SO, your peak fertility days are 3 days before you ovulate and 1 day after you ovulate....so about 5 days.

The key to this--is knowing exactly when you ovulate.

Hope this helps.
