Contact a local law school and ask them for the phone number of their free clinic... or something like that, they all have them - like 4th year students who want to take on cases, they get to learn while helping. Making $30k, I am not sure if he would qualify for legal aid or not, so try the law school. Make sure he has all his paperwork in order, as they will need to review everything.

OK, it sound like the mother is a !@#$% this is easy enough to solve.... let the mother go ahead and do her thing... the mother probably likes upsetting the father with her power over him. tell him not to let her get to him, in the near future the mother will see how tough it is never having any free time and will beg the father to get them baby more often,,,, until she gets a boyfriend and tries to make him the daddy,,,, but no worries for that right now,,,,
a lawyer will finance and if it is important to him he will come up with the money,,,,,, i paid like 300 down and a couple a month,,, 1200total

a lawyer is the best bet or she will yank him around like a ragdoll...... get the idea.... get a lawyer close to the courthouse,,like across, the street....., no outsiders.... if you are lucky she will get an outsider lawyer,,,,,,

He might make too much for legal aide - but he should check it out anyway.

Otherwise he's going to have to get a loan, make payments, beg or borrow to get an attorney.

Some attornies will let their clients do some of the leg work to save money - he can also see about that.

Why would the father want to disrupt the child's life except for self centered reasons?

If he did not think enough of the child to marry it's mother, why the concern now 3 years later?

Usually, it is to get out of child support.

If you love the child do what is best for the child. This includes timely paying child support.

Tough titty said the kitty when the milk ran dry. Get visitation rights and pay child support, if he's lucky.
