It's a nice holiday and my husband and I will celebrate it by exchanging a greeting card, maybe candy and/or flowers. We usually don't go out to eat because the restaurants are jam packed with people. We'll sometimes do lunch or the weekend before/after. We don't normally make a big deal of it ... we have "Valentine's Day" every day! ;) We always tell each other we love each other several times a day, make time for a kiss and hug (or several!), make time to talk and spend time together as much as we can! We live in the US.

I live in the United States of America. Here, we make a big deal of it. Most Americans call Valentine's Day a "Hallmark Holiday,", which over here basically means it is a holiday created to make the greeting card companies rich. But personally, I love Valentine's Day. We give flowers, cards, and fancy boxes of chocolates. We take our spouse or boyfriend/girlfriend out to eat at a nice restaurant and generally, just enjoy spending quality time together. It's a nice opportunity to show our spouse how much they mean to us.

I Live in America. And its not like a huge holiday over here, but many people celebrate it with their loved ones. mostly boyfriends with girlfriends and husbands with wives. i personally love Valentines day. It is a great day just to reassure all the love you have for each other and go have a day just for you and your loved one. most people exchanged something little for a gift, mostly choclate and maybe a stuffed animal. Flowers are the big gift too. so i really love the holiday.

Some people make more of it than others, of course. But my gran always combined her birthday dinner with a Valentine's celebration (She was born on the day).
Everyone had a good time, and she was the centre of double attention.

Call me negative but I hate Valentines day. Its right on top of my birthday which is completely eclipsed by it. No decent cards in the shops, flowers cost a fortune, and you can't book a restaurant table for more than two people. I'd just like to be allowed to have a birthday like everybody else.

I live in tennessee, USA.

and this past Valentines Day, we stayed at home and cooked a big dinner, and then had a candlelight bath.

Also bought each other a few things.

i'm from the us. there's always alot of hype around the holiday. Like where you're going to go to dinner, what movie you are going to see together, what fun event you're attending that night...so on. But really it's just like any other day. Once it's over I don't even think about it anymore. I just have some nice flowers to look at until they die and an empty box of chocolate that I feel guilty for eating.
