first step would be to simpliry 1/sqrt(5). multiply numberator and denominator by sqrt(5)

thus you get sqrt(20)/5 - sqrt(5)/5

(sqrt(20) - sqrt(5)) /5

sqrt(20 = sqrt(4)*sqrt(5) = 2*sqrt(5)

thus we get (2*sqrt(5) - sqrt(5)) /5.

which becomes sqrt(5)/5

1/√5 *(√5/√5)=√5/5
((2√5)/5) -(√5/5)= (2√5-√5)/5
=√5/5

√4=2
so you have:
2√5/5 -1/√5
To rationalise the denominator multiply by √5/√5 =1
1/√5 *√5/√5 = √5/5

so 2√5/5 -√5/5 = (2√5-√5)/5
so it simplifies down to
(√5)/5
