most models wear a LOT of makeup but if you want to do that without using a lot of makeup
1. Wash your face at least to times a day with warm water. it opens up your pores . Usually in the morning and before you go to bed
2. Dont eat greasy food. It gives you pimples. Also you shouldnt pop them because it just makes it look worse. You can eat it but not to much of it.
3. If you have bangs make sure they are not greasy by taking a shower often. If they are greasy they can give you pimples on your forehead.
you can also try clearisile and proactive
if you have blackheads there are things you can put on your nose to get rid of them

Beside makeup, oxy-pads, lotions, and dermatology-based supplements, there are a few tricks:
0) While botox is decent for aiding against wrinkles and such, it doesn't help clarify complexion.
1) Washing your face may help...but it won't keep up (IE you have to keep washing to keep the effect)
2) Lighting...by brightening and dimming light in areas of complexion photographers can make a scene with lights that "even out" the too dark/light spots to take their photos. Photo editors can do the same thing.
3) Diet...and this, unlike many other tricks, has PERMANENT effects. Eating a good deal of Omega 3 fatty acids (and some Omega-6) naturally causes skin to even out. Note eating non-fried fish (that has Omega-3), for example, makes MUCH more of a difference than using a cheesy "Omega-3/6 enhanced" skin cream. BTW eating too much greasy foods (which has bad fats) reduces the effect of the good Omega-3 fats.
Your dermatologist may well recommend a supplement containing Omega-3/6 and/or beta-carotine, which has similar effects esp. for dry skin.
2.5) Some people react to sugar by getting pimples/rashes: I had a friend who had this problem extensively. Easy fix, stay away from high sugar foods/drinks (especially sodas)...if you need a boost, eat fruit (much lower sugar).
3) I know it's fun to gossip about but, on the other hand, don't obsess about it too much. In the end your physical condition/performance and attitude mean much more to how sexy you are, in the long-term, then if you simply have a pretty face.

most of them have horrible complexions...very expensive make up covers it up...for a regular person, just keep your face clean, use masks, pimple medication...etc. and keep your stress level down, also, don't scratch or rub your face with dirty hands, or don't bother with a pimple, it turns ugly
