metal is definately better, i meen for metal u have to learn how to play an instrument or if u want to be a singer u need to master a wide variety of emotions, for rap, there are no instruments because u just press a button on the drum machine, and all u need to do for singing is talk, also metal has more of a variety of subgenres because it can be altered, for rap its just well rap, u cant make to many changes to a guy talking, in fact i dont think that there is anything good about rap, its violant and destructive, metal is actually about things, like how bad the US government is and politics, rap is just well, people talking about living in the "ghetto" when they actually live in huge mantions, there fakes. people say that metal is satanic, when its not, find me a song that people actually listen to that has satan in it, also people say actually sing, when they do sing, and u can understand it, people who say that most of the time have never even heard metal, those and almost all metal bashing comments are lies and the people who say them r either retarded or need to do research before they bash something
-edit, to ryan, u said its about the same **** and cutting yourself, thats emo, not metal u ******* retard, and also rap isnt the same **** about rape and killing over and over.

Metal is definitely better.
Metal requires much more talent than rap. From the frontman to the lead guitar to the bass to the drums, they're all more talented than I'd say 90% of rappers out there.
A friend mine once said: "There is metal and then there is that frickin' dog crap that wishes it was metal." Though he didn't use those exact words.

Rap. I hate the lyrics. Most of them are ignorant and idiotic but the beats are what draws me to it. metal is just a hot mess. I've only heard a bit of it and that was enough for me...never again!

Metal.....Metal bands actually have talented MUSICIANS that can write music and play real instruments.Rap "music" and lyrics only convey negative messages and whining, backed with ridiculous
pre-programed,annoying,ugly electronic thumping beats.
