There is a bug called the Bark Beetle that kills plants. I used to live in a place where there were a lot of these beetles. They attack plants that thrive year round. Parts of your tree are already dead. The beetles will end up killing your whole tree if you don't stop them. There are different remedies to stop these pests. Spray pesticide or put moth balls in the ground around the tree. The bettles and other pests hate the smell.
